CtrlPeriod — regulatory research on Indian tariff orders
CtrlPeriod is a research assistant for Indian economic regulation. It answers questions about tariff orders and regulatory determinations in plain language and cites the exact page of the source order behind every claim, so the answer can be checked against the original document.
What it covers
The corpus holds complete orders from three regulators. From the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA): tariff orders for 30 Indian airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Goa. From the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC): multi-year tariff orders, review orders and related determinations for distribution, transmission and generation licensees such as MSEDCL, Adani Electricity Mumbai, Tata Power, BEST, MSETCL and MSPGCL. From the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC): station tariff orders and tariff adoption orders for central generating and transmission utilities including NTPC and POWERGRID.
What it answers
Typical questions concern the Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR), Return on Equity, Fair Rate of Return, User Development Fee (UDF) and other aeronautical charges, AT&C loss trajectories, power purchase cost, capital expenditure allowed, truing-up adjustments, and how a determination changed across a control period.
How it works
Normal mode searches across every document in the corpus and answers from the most relevant passages, with citations. Deep mode reads a single order from first page to last and produces a comprehensive analysis, which can be delivered as an answer in chat or exported as an Excel workbook, a Word memo or a slide deck.
